Community Cleanse Tour

The goal of the Community Cleanse Tour is to tour the streets of a community in partnership with at least one other organization, while picking up litter and disposing of it in the wastebaskets located on the corner of nearly every city street.
The importance of this project on our world Community:
Littering has been an element of society for as long as anyone can remember. And for quite some time society has tried to eliminate, or at least minimize, the cause and effects of littering. But alas, to no avail, littering persists and society is resigned to the fact that we have “no choice†but to settle for a littered environment.
Street litter, such as plastic bags, cups, and candy wrappers, often gets swept away with rain water into storm drains and ends up floating in the ocean or washing up on our beaches. A great deal of street litter is made up of plastic, which takes hundreds of years to break down and become harmful to the environment. Animals can mistake plastics for food and can become tangled in it and die. As well, litter obviously destroys the value of our beautiful communities.
So, Phi Sigma Chi took to the streets to beauti-phi it a bit.
