What is a fraternity?
A fraternity is a group of men formed by a brotherhood with common goals and aspirations who make a commitment to each other for life. The members that form a fraternity or sorority share their efforts, friendship and knowledge. Together these members learn, grow and make the fraternity, commonly called a Greek organization, stronger. The men of Phi Sigma Chi share a common foundation comradeship that last a lifetime.
What does Phi Sigma Chi stand for?
Phi Sigma Chi is a philanthropy based fraternity that promotes the awareness of the Multiculturalism that makes up the diversity found within our society. We build young men into leaders. The organization upholds Brotherhood, Loyalty, Respect, Wisdom, Unity and Pride as its principles. Every member of the organization lives out these beliefs in their everyday lives.
What are the requirements for membership eligibility?
In order to be eligible for membership, you must be a full-time student at the institution, college, or university where you are pursuing membership. Additionally, you must have at least a 2.50 cumulative Grade Point Average (If you are a first semester freshmen contact your local chapter for more information)
Will I be hazed?
Phi Sigma Chi does not promote or condone any behavior related to hazing. During the education process for membership, you will learn the history of the organization, leadership skills, and connect more with our members. None of the activities should affect your ability to take care of the priorities in your life. If there is an incident in which hazing takes place, there are policies & protocols in place to address and correct the matter. What is the price for becoming a member?
The new member fee is $200 and is a one-time non-refundable payment. Each member also pays an annual membership fee.
What are the advantages of joining Phi Sigma Chi?
You will become part of a network of men that support one another’s growth, for life. You will be part of a network that will help support your career development. You will have a support system at school to remain uplifted and motivated to succeed. You will have opportunities to help shape the community in which you live. You will learn vital leadership skills, such as public speaking, event organizing, media relations, time management, and more. You will further be able to develop into a well-rounded man.
How long will it take before I become an official member of the organization?
The membership education process can last up to 10 weeks.
